Campaigning for the Right to Food

Tuesday 20 April 7-8pm

Food poverty had sharply increased even before the COVID-19 pandemic but has now become even more acute. Far from inevitable, the growing need for foodbanks is the consequence of political choices. Join us to discuss how trade unions and community groups are fighting to put a right to food into legislation in both Holyrood and Westminster, and to tackle the root causes of food insecurity.

Speakers: Ian Byrne MP, Elaine Smith (former MSP), Dr Andrew Williams (Cardiff University) Sarah Woolley (General Secretary, BFAWU).

Chair: Laura Smith
